Finally

We have some good news.  Damn good news.  While we were hibernating out in the woods for 3 years, Matt and I created two more comics.  The Gore Trilogy is now finished.  Our quest is over.  We have retired from our woodland cabins and have returned to society.  We will board the bus & travel down to the promised land - COLUMBUS for the S.PA.C.E. comicon!  And, don't tell anyone, but we're gonna try to sell our comics there for about $2.  Yes - we're finally giving into corporate America (although I don't know if comics are corporate...) and trying to MAKE money or at least come out even.  Well, I think that's all I need to report on except all of you should email us to ask for issues 7 & 8 (8 will be printed on Sat.) and then give us money and feedback or you could just give us one of them.  Oh - and we still haven't received that email for the free comics (yes, we're still waiting for our FIRST email...god).  Thanks,

Nick (little redundant for "Nick's Page," ain't it?)

Issue 7 to come out...soon (?)

To all of our fans: Issue 7 will soon be on the shelves of your local comic book store...or so we wish.  Well, they will indeed be on our shelves, and you can ask for some, probably within a week or two.  This one is the best yet, I think (it's funny how they just keep getting better...).  We have great plans for 8-11...8 is going to conclude this story and will hopefully be the last of the three parter trend forever, or at least a while.  I can't tell you the other ideas we have, but they are kinnda cool!  Also, I have made my writing debut in #7.  It isn't much of a story, but it is indeed a story nonetheless, and it's kinnda funny.  Or maybe really funny if you get the joke.  So, everyone should give us feedback when the get the comic.  Also, one or more of us (and by that I mean both of us) will be at SPACE in March or whenever it is.  So you can get comics there.  Kick Ass.

Not much happening...

I'd like for all 569 of our fans - or however many of you have ever come to this site (about 100 of those visitors are probably Matt or myself...) - to know that I have finished 13/22 pages of the comic...then I also have to do the cover and we're gonna write some crap on the back.  Also (you should all be REALLY happy to hear this), we are probably going to make the comic 28 pages long starting issue 9...maybe before then!  We are really expanding our horizons...it's friggin' incredible!  Also (hate to brag, but...), our comic got some press!  So who cares if it was only in the school newspaper and took up about 1/3 of the 2nd to last page?  It was printed...it was handed out to at least 800 or so people...and hopefully at least 200 people read that part so that's 200 or so more "dedicated" fans for our "growing fanbase!"

Evil Dead Marathon

I just watched Evil Dead III today and the first Evil Dead yesterday (surprisingly, the first Evil Dead I saw was the 2nd one...is that surprising...?).  Anyways, they were cool.  Everyone loves those B-Movies, although I can't call the 3rd one a true B-movie, like I know what I'm talking about.  Right, well, Bruce Campbell, AKA Ash, lives in Oregon.  Why do I mention this, you ask?  The reason is because I go to Oregon for a month or so every year.  But it gets better.  The reason I go to Oregon is because my mother plays cello in a music festival there.  To be specific: a little town called Jacksonville.  Jacksonville has about 2000 people and just so happens to be the town where Bruce Campbell himself lives!  I may have been walking in front of him one day and not even noticed it!  Its fuckin' incredible, man.  Well, its kinnda incredible, I guess.

Kill Bill

It was pretty cool.  I'm sure that Matt when find this review within the next 48 hours and write a counter-point perspective on the movie.  Anyways, I thought it was very well done and I really liked how it covered all the kung-fu movies.  There was a black and white part and another part that had that 70s-esque feel.  There was an animation section which I thought could have been better but was a cool thought nonetheless.  If I were to sum the movie up into one word it would be "It was pretty good."  And that, my friends, is my incredible movie review.  I'm sure that you will all find it very insightful and be inspired to put on your jackets and hats and rush to the theater nearest you to catch the 8:35 showing of KILL BILL.  Yes sir.

"It was pretty good" is not one word.
-Matt

Today I heard that a man had tripped over a brick that was lying in the road.  He fell on his face, but when he hit the ground, he saw a vision, or so he claims.  In this "vision" the man, Clyde Gndl, says that he saw how the road was created.  It was obviously made from asphalt and gravel and had been driven on and biked on and occasionaly walked on for approximately 15 years.  There had been many renovations made to this road, he had also observed.  The first of these was the addition of a side road called "Halpering Drive", the origin and reason for creation of this road is still unknown.  Mr. Gndl did however provide the city council with some very valuble information concerning the quality of the road.  He commented that the road "was too hard" because after the fall, he had broken his nose and chipped three teeth, one in the front and two on the side.  The city is now conducting a survey which asks people if they would prefer a softer road (i.e. made of rubber) or a stronger and firmer road, as it is today.  Please send your votes and other grievances to Nicholas Edwards Mercer at tintin1000@aol.com

Fuck Matt

I would like all of you to know that Mr. Matt Herzfled (better know as Matt Herzfeld) is solely responsible for the delay in the printing of  FB #6.  Everyone blame him for this fatal error on his part, please.  Matt will pay in due time.  The comic should come out (if there aren't anymore complaints!) within two weeks at which point all of our fans, who have been sending us NON-STOP EMAILS of how much they love and adore us for everything that we're doing for the comic industry, can purchase their comics or probably beg for a long time and get them for free.

Long Time...

Holy Shinto!  It's been over two weeks since I last wrote on this...geez.  Not that any of you care, probably, since we haven't gotten any goddamn emails, yet.  Anyways, yesterday I saw Lost in Translation with Matt.  I thought it was very well done and a pretty good movie.  Scarlett Johansson was very good and so was Bill Murray.  But I especially liked S. J.  It was pretty funny in areas and blended the weird and the real aspects of Tokyo together exceptionally well, I think.  Speaking about Tokyo, I'm going there.  Soon.  In October.  Fun!  For a week!  Excellent!  Yes!

Battle of Shaker Heights...

Matt was asked by our local community magazine, Shaker Magazine (how creative) to write a review for the movie, Battle of Shaker Heights.  He asked me and Eli, our other friend, to come.  Boy was it a bad choice.  That movie REALLY BLEW.  Don't see it!  It was very band, poorly developed characters, bad editing, overused, uncreative story...really commercialized, and it didn't even look like Shaker Heights at ALL!  An outrage!  And while I'm on my rant, The Cleveland Plain Dealer wrote an article today about how Harvey Pekar's success has had a negative impact on the city since he makes the place look like a hell hole or something.  Lay off, it's art!  Oh, and issue 6 is half-way done.  We got a new story that will appear in one of the next few issues...and this time it's about me!  It's gonna center me as the main character.  Matt hasn't written it yet, but I'm really excited and I'm gonna push it so that I can finally get some damn recognition!

What's Going on Here?

We've been advertising this site to no end and what to we get?  One or two emails!  I got one that said  "yes please" and that was all.  Come one, guys, I hate to beg but at least send us some feedback or something.  I'd also like you to send us some money and your adress and THEN some feedback but maybe that'll come later...Anyways, I posted our newest FB item today!  It's a poster with portraits or Matt and myself!  How cool!  They're just $2 or 3 for $5 so, what can you lose?  Buy 3 and give two to your friends and keep one for yourslef.  Thanks.

So Many Damn Decisions

I'm trying to make up my mind if I want to switch outta the Graphic Design class at my school and go to Advanced Drawing or stay in the class.  Well, actually, I KNOW that I want out.  It's just hard to do these switching things for me.  Even when I'm not interested in something, it's so damn hard to switch because I always feel like it's my obligation to do what I started.  Anyways, I've posted a GREAT NEW SITE my dad found on the Links page.  You should check it out if you're into Matt's kind of music because ALL of it sucks.  I don't know how this woman finds this stuff, but if she ever reads this, I hope she knows how incredible her website is and I admire her greatly for her dedication!

Back to School

Well, Matt and I are back to school now.  I don't really like being back.  It's okay, but there are so many other things to do besides school.  For me it's things like comics, drawing, watching movies, and other stuff.  For Matt, it's probably watching his hentai and Russ Meyer movies and spending tons of money on comics that he will never read!  Anyways, I didn't know what I was getting myself into, going on the AP track for Math and History only in 10th grade!  That means I'm working 3 years ahead of myself or something.  It seems really hard...or it seems like it's going to be!  Well at least my German class is real easy and my English and Biology classes seem okay.  One of my teachers looks like Christopher Llyod with 75 extra pounds and talks like a mix between Chris Farley and Rip Torn (although Matt and don't necessarily agree on this).  My other teacher talks like Kermit the Frog and has a lazy eye that I find pretty spooky.  My other weird teacher is, well, just WEIRD.  But he's funny and he seems good so I can't complain, I guess.  I hope all of you viewers found this interesting because I sure did!  Exciting!

Wesley Willis - DEAD!

One of my personal heros in the music field, Wesley Willis, died on August 23rd.  No one knows exactly how he died, but it is thought that he died from heart failure.  He was only 40!  So young...so young and full of life...*sob* *sob*

God Bless Wesley Willis

The Man Behind the Comic: Matt
*note* - Nick is really writing this...not Matt pretending to be Nick

I met Matt in Kindergarten.  Well, I didn't really meet him until first grade, but he knew me pretty well in Kindergarten.  It was a very strange relationship that we had, however.  We didn't talk very much - maybe we didn't talk at all - but Matt was fascinated with something I had: my Batman shirt.  He would sit behind me at lunch whenever I wore the shirt and stare at it with his friend.  Sometimes I'd wear the shirt several times a week to see what his reaction would be.  Anyways, we really became friends in first grade when we were in the same class.  I can't really remember what happened in first thru sixth grade with Matt and I...I know that we were in the same classes for almost the whole time, but that's it.  I do know some things about Matt that no one else knows, however.  He may act like a very intellectual, smart, nice, shy kid on the outside but Matt is a very strange person.  Matt has an obsession with films that many people would find terrible.  He LOVES Russ Meyer (and I DON'T think it's because of his "excellent cinematography. Matt), and really weird French and Japanese movies.  He ESPECIALLY loves low budget crappy Japanese horror films.  He will frquently tie me and our other friend, Eli, to his sofa and force us to watch his shitty movies...he makes us watch those Russ Meyer's a whole lot...I think I've seen Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill, Kill at least 25 times.  Also Matt loves to waste his money on things that are cheap.  His most recent buy was a collection of aproximately 100 Japanese hentai (AKA Japanese porn) movies that he CLAIMS he bought because they were so cheap.  yeah right, Matt.  I find it fascinating that Matt likes really, truly good movies and then he also like truly trashy movies (although I'm sure he'd disagree with me here).  Oh, he also likes weird music.  Some of its good but most of its weird.  Ms. Miller is one of his favorites...Wesley Willis and Wild Man Fisher are also on his top 10 list.  He's fucked up but he writes well and is interesting so I can't complain...well I can't complain anymore.
